WPD's™ in-house, System Analysis Department, studies the terrain to identify the most optimal route for the pipeline. Determining the most optimal route allows us to maintain required flow rates better than our competitors. These detailed reports use geographical calculations and regression analyses to determine where high pressures in the line will occur, and gives us the ability to plan accordingly. Mathematically, we know how hard to run the pumps, and where to place them within the pipeline to avoid high pressure situations, leaks, cracks, and any other problems that may occur with pipeline infrastructure.
